We had a 3/4 day today. We caught some live bait (Cigar Minnows and Ballyhoos) on the Reef and then we headed to the Hump. We caught a few nice Blackfin Tunas on the live bait and then trolled and caught another dozen on the tuna feathers. The wind was Northeast at around 18 knots, waves were 3 to 5 feet and water temp was 81.
Cold front pushing through the Florida Keys and it’s finally cooling off a little!
We had a half day on the Reef and we started off by fishing live Cigar Minnows and Ballyhoos as bait and then anchored down for some Yellowtail Snappers – we caught a dozen for dinner. After that the weather took it’s toll on one of our guests and we came in a little early.
Wind was out of the NE at 20 knots, waves were 2-3 feet on the Reef and water temp was 83 degrees!
I fished with Joe Hendrix two weeks ago. It was the best single day of fishing i have ever had anywhere and I’ve fished several dozen times out of Bud N Mary’s alone. we caught a huge variety of fish, Joe worked very hard to keep the action up. he was great with my kids and would be great to fish with your buddies too. hard working, professional, all around great guy. Bud N Mary’s has the best guides / captains around!
Today we fished a full day and we went to the Hump in the morning and caught a few Blackfin Tunas. Then we went looking for Mahi Mahi and didn’t find any so we went back to the Hump where we caught this huge 30 lb. Blackfin Tuna and a few other nice ones.
Wind was light and variable and the waves were 1-2 feet….gorgeous day on the water in Islamorada, Florida Keys!
