We had a half day with Alan and his family from Homestead, Florida! We went Mahi Mahi fishing in the shallower water (350 feet or less of water). Caught and released a lot of smaller Mahi and were able to keep 8 for dinner. The kids did a great job catching fish today! Wind out of the East at about 10 knots, waves 1-2 feet and water temperature was 82 degrees!
Doug and Josh from Cape Coral, Florida were our charter guests today. We fished a full day and caught our limit of Mahi Mahi by 9:30 a.m.! Then we caught 5 Blackfin Tunas and then we came to the Reef and caught another 6 Yellowtail Snapper and came in early! It was a flat calm hot, but beautiful day!
It was a gorgeous day out on the water today in Islamorada, Florida Keys! We went 20 miles offshore and caught our limit of Mahi Mahi by 9:30 a.m.! Then we went trolling for a big Mahi Mahi, but we caught and released a bunch more schoolies. This shot was taken from one of the schools of Mahi Mahis! Wind came out of the South at 5 knots, seas calm and water temperature at 82 degrees.
Tom and his wife fished with us today and they are from beautiful Islamorada! They caught this nice Gag Grouper, a Black Grouper and 30 Yellowtail Snapper. Fishing was so good that we stayed on the Reef today. Wind is out of the South at about 15 knots, waves 1-2 feet and water temperature is at 83 degrees.
We had a morning half today and it was rough out there! I took Joe and his son Zack from Jupiter, Florida out. We went to the Reef and caught 30 Yellowtail Snapper, lost a big Grouper and tried for a Permit, but the water was too green. Wind out of the South at 16-18 knots, waves 4-6 feet and water temp was 83 degrees.
The sun is finally back out here in Islamorada, Florida Keys after 2 weeks of clouds and rain! We fished a full day today offshore and caught our limit of Mahi Mahi by 10:30 a.m.! We tried Yellowtailing on the Reef, but didn’t catch any because they just weren’t biting. Wind out of the South at 10 knots, 1-3 foot chop and water temp is up to 82 degrees.
The sun is finally slowly coming back out in the Florida Keys! We went offshore for a full day today. We caught a few nice Mahi Mahi – we lost a big bull around 35 lbs. We also caught a bunch of Blackfin Tuna. Wind came out of the South at around 15 knots, seas 2-4 feet and water temperature is up to 82 degrees.
I went out with Capt. Billy on the Hurricane today and we went out to the Gulf. We caught 4 big Mahi Mahi and about 30 schoolie size ones. Then we made 4 Swordfish drops – had 3 bites and caught this big one about 250 lbs! Wind was out of the East at 10-15 knts, seas were 2-4 feet and water temp was 84 degrees.
